Peace Studies Program
The Peace Studies program encourages students to explore the multiple meanings of peace, the relationship between peace and conflict, and the role of peace on local and global levels. The program provides students the opportunity to examine peace in its philosophical and religious dimensions, as an important aspect of international affairs, and as a vital part of social, economic, and environmental justice. Housed within the Department of Religion, the Peace Studies program emphasizes the role of world religions in peace building and conflict resolution.

Meet the Program Director
Irene Oh, who received her PhD in Religious Studies from the University of Virginia, is the author of The Rights of God: Islam, Human Rights, and Comparative Ethics and is currently working on a book about the ethics of motherhood.
