Student Services

The students at the GW Art Therapy Program come from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and interests. We have students from other countries, such as, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Israel, Venezuela, and Puerto Rico. We have students who have recently graduated to those coming back for second or third careers. We have students who are interested in working with children with disabilities, exploring research topics, and continuing to express themselves through their own personal art.

If you are interested in meeting some of the current and past students of the Program, click on Meet the Students. Explore various copies of the student run newsletter on the right-hand side. Recent student research that was presented at the American Art Therapy Conferences is listed under Student Research.

Our students are a vibrant, creative, diverse and intelligent group. If you would like to apply to become a GW Art Therapy student, please refer to the Admissions section of this website.

The GW Art Therapy Center

Our confidential services are offered to the community and provided in partnership with GW’s Graduate Art Therapy Program, which immerses students in the latest research on the therapeutic use of the expressive arts.  Therapists in the art therapy clinic are second year graduate students who work under the direct supervision of registered and board-certified art therapists and licensed mental health professionals.  Click here for more information.
