Giving

Gifts to the Art Therapy Program enable us to provide support for faculty and student research and travel, graduate student fellowships, and academic enrichment activities including guest speakers, visiting faculty, and symposia. Each gift, no matter how large or small, makes a positive impact on our educational mission and furthers our standing as one of the nation's preeminent liberal arts colleges at one of the world's preeminent universities.

You can make your gift to the department in a number of ways:

  • By mailing your check, made out to The George Washington University and with "Art Therapy Program" in the memo line, to:

    The George Washington University
    2100 M Street NW
    Suite 310
    Washington, DC 20052

  • By phone by calling the GW Annual Fund at 1-800-789-2611

 Current Funding Opportunities

The Katherine J. Williams and The Prasad Family Foundation Multicultural Fund

Katherine J. Williams Fund to promote diversity in scholarship and in recruitment. This fund was established on the occasion of Katherine Williams' retirement in June, 2000, to honor her many contributions to the Art Therapy Program at the George Washington University for over 20 years.

In 2005 The Prasad Foundation—Sangeeta Patel Prasad is a 1989 graduate from The George Washington Art Therapy Program and her husband, Ram, is a graduate of the GW engineering department—gave a match grant in order to endow the Fund. They have donated $2500 to the fund as a match grant meaning that any donation you make to the fund will be matched by them up to $2500. This is an exciting opportunity for you to make a difference in current and future students' lives.

The Kwiatkowska Fund

The purpose of The Kwiatkowska Fund is to honor Professor Kwiatkowska's research, clinical work and teaching legacy. Hanna Kwiatkowska was an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the GW Art Therapy Program from 1971 until her death in 1980. Kwiatkowska pioneered clinical work in family art therapy and introduced art therapy in the research program at the National Institute of Mental Health.

Goals for the fund include:

The Kwiatkowska Prize awarded annually to a student with exceptional strengths in the areas of family, assessment, group, or research.

Contributions to these worthwhile funds are tax-deductible. Please note on the memo line of your check either The Katherine J. Williams and The Prasad Family Foundation Multicultural Fund or The Kwiatkowska Fund. The Development Office will send you a letter acknowledging your donation for tax purposes.
