A Collaborative Approach:
Our confidential services are offered to the community and provided in partnership with GW’s Graduate Art Therapy Program, which immerses students in the latest research on the therapeutic use of the expressive arts. Therapists in the art therapy clinic are second year graduate students who work under the direct supervision of registered and board-certified art therapists and licensed mental health professionals. Because we are a training facility, our sessions are digitally video recorded so that students can review their videos. We do maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to the American Art Therapy as well as the Board of Counseling Code of Ethics.
What We Offer:
Our clinic is bright and sunny, separate from classrooms and offices in the Graduate Education Center of the GW University. There are 3 art therapy clinic rooms; each is attractive, well lit and comfortable, equipped with adjustable tables, chairs, and ample storage space for art supplies and projects. We have sand trays in all rooms and a wide variety of 2 d and 3 d art materials and supplies. In the waiting room there are chairs, tables and reading materials for clients and family members.
The Art Therapy clinic offers art therapy services on a sliding fee scale, starting as low as $5 a session. We conduct one-on-one individual sessions as well as group and family therapies. We see clients Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 8 PM with some Saturday hours also available. We adhere to an academic calendar so observe a Winter, Spring and Summer break.
